PLANNING
WHAT TO BRING
The temperature atop Haleakala can be in the low 40’s and the temperature at sea level can be close to 90 degrees in the summer. While we provide rain gear for the summit, most people are more comfortable with a few extra layers. A sweatshirt and long pants are recommended, with a t-shirt and shorts underneath. That will keep you warm at the summit, but allow you to shed your layers as you make your way down the mountain and encounter warmer temperatures.
Here are a few items we recommend throughout the tour:
- Layered Clothing
- Closed-toe shoes
- Snacks
- Water
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses or Prescription Eyewear
- Camera
FOOD
We currently are not serving any food/beverages at our shop. Along the bike ride down however there are several options and restaurants that you can stop off at and eat at if you choose. Our drivers will point out a couple of recommendations to you as we drive up Haleakala.
